BDP20 – Event with a partner

On September 14th and 15th, 2020 Paris hosted simultaneously two great events for the European Big Data panorama: the BIG DATA PARIS and the AI Paris Convention.

THE PARTNER

Before COVID-19 emergency, Knowage decided to join this event with a partner that could be the reference point for the French Market: Synaltic.

Synaltic is a genuine Data Specialist, that offers a new perspective on information systems that are more and more “Data Driven”. Relying on strong partnerships and the expertise of its employees, Synaltic assists its customers at every stage of data development by focusing its offer on four major themes: Data Governance, Data Intelligence, Data Exchange and Data Platform.

Knowage and Synaltic are collaborating for more than 10 years fostering the widespread of the open source business intelligence through France. One of the last collaborations is the participation of Knowage Labs to the Online Data Festival powered by Synaltic during the lockdown.

>>Here the recorded speech of Knowage presentation as smart business intelligence tool.

THE EVENT

Knowage and Synaltic became co-exhibitors at Big Data Paris, joining the event with the common aim to promote Knowage capabilities to help companies to deal with Big Data and the related market challenges.

The booth has been thought and dressed to greatly represent both companies and their relationship: Synaltic as reliable and experienced system integrator on the French market, Knowage as the business intelligence solution chosen to help customers to manage Big Data and perform advanced analytics.

Since in September the event was launched as “hybrid” (100% physical and 100% digital), Synaltic was charged of being present at the booth and manage the first contact with participants, while Knowage Labs managed the virtual booth available on the digital platform of the event. Moreover, the partners decided to enrich the visitors’ experience at their booth (both physical and digital) with a full schedule of speeches and demoes.

Speeches and demoes covered different topics related to Big Data management and analysis: source collection, data governance, big data visualization, location intelligence, advanced analytics, presentations of Knowage and Synaltic. Speeches were hosted both in person at the booth and online through a Zoom meeting available for everyone.

>> Here the recordings of these speeches.

THE TAKEAWAYS

Big Data Paris gathered more than 11000 visitors (51% physical and 49% digital) in this first edition as hybrid event. Knowage and Synaltic were able to collect new contacts and empower already existing collaborations through the physical and the virtual booth as well as through the online speeches. New contacts will now benefit of a deeper Knowage presentation and will be supported by the expertise of Synaltic in their adoption of Knowage.

In the end of the experience, joining such an event with a partner like Synaltic, proved to be a great business enhancer and an added-value for event visitors too.

OW2con20 as Online Event

This year, OW2con, the annual conference of the OW2 open source community, is going to be an online event. On June 17-18, OW2online’20, the name of the virtual event, will include one day of online presentations and 1/2 day of break-out sessions. OW2online’20 will offer attendees dozens of presentations and the ability to chat with the speakers.

REGISTER NOW!

There will be an additional face-to-face Community Day in November: besides a high-level program of keynote addresses, roundtables, and the OW2con Best Project Awards, the Community Day will provide ample time for networking and informal discussions.

The central theme of OW2con this year is: “Keep the conversation going!“.

This theme refers to the challenges appearing today for decision makers who consider evolving their information systems with open source software. As open source has become mainstream it is not limited to the operating systems and infrastructure middleware. Open source software across the whole information system is what we call “full stack open source”. What is at stake is more than just deploying Linux servers; it is about defining an architecture, engaging with the whole open source ecosystem and establishing a mature governance system.

OW2 website

Engineering is proud sponsor of the event and Knowage, the open source suite powered by Engineering, will join the event thanks to the speech “Boost dataviz with Python“, presenting the new Knowage R/Python widget that allows to embed R and Python scripts directly within a cockpit filling a gap between datavisualization and datascience. With this widget, datascientists are able to integrate python facilities in a heterogeneous and multi-source environment and to present advanced analytics to a broader audience. The speech is scheduled for Wednesday 17th of June at 11.45 AM CEST.

These cockpits exploit the wide Knowage capabilities in data visualization, advanced analytics and predictive analyses: Knowage, in fact, is the open source business analytics suite that combines traditional business intelligence capabilities with agile tools that promote the autonomy of end users and advanced features aimed at the emerging segment of data scientists.

The realization of these cockpits has been supported by Engineering Ingegneria Informatica through the contribution of its Excellence Competence Center in Data & Analytics.
