OW2con’19 Event Highlights

On June 12th and 13th 2019, Knowage team went to Paris for the OW2con’19, the international open source conference organized by OW2 Consortium.

The title of this year edition was “Open Source: Toward Industry Maturity“: in fact, open source adoption is really evolving in Europe, as confirmed by the presence of high-level keynote speakers from large European companies. Engineering and Knowage are the only Italian players in the OW2 scenario, proud to contribute to OW2 mission, above all in the business intelligence market. 

The OW2 conference experienced an increase in the participants’ number: this edition program added to the traditional keynotes several parallel breakout sessions on specific topics.

Knowage is now available on AWS Marketplace!

Knowage is now available on AWS Marketplace: AWS Marketplace is an online store that makes it easy for customers to find, compare, and immediately start using the software and services that run on AWS that they need to build products and run their businesses.

Visitors to AWS Marketplace can use the AWS Marketplace 1-Click Deployment feature to quickly launch pre-configured Knowage.

OW2 Conference 2019

FIWARE Global Summit 2019 Event Highlights

On May 21st and 22nd 2019, Genoa hosted the 6th FIWARE Global Summit. It was the first time that this event landed in Italy.

The event gathered the FIWARE community and city representatives, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, SMEs, decision-makers, large enterprises, and developers to discuss the recent trends in smart technologies and urban development. Knowage 6.4 release

KNOWAGE suite is now available on its 6.4 version. From the previous version the following changes have been made:

  • News Managements, a new option to create news for the end user;
  • The user is now able to change the document name, within workspace;
  • Registry, the profile attributes filtering criteria are applied on Registry document;
  • When integrating Knowage with Javascript SDK, user can be authenticated by means of a JWT token;
  • Chart, it is possible to combine a stacked bar chart with a line chart;
  • Chart, when the user sets order column in bar chart in wrong way, Knowage alerts the user;
  • Chart, the user can specify if legend should also contain checkboxes to hide/display values on the chart;
  • CrossTab, the user is able to configure the total label in a cross-tab; • Mobile, Knowage advises on wrong device orientation;
  • HTML widget, it is possible to set up a min and max limit for the kn-calc in the HTML Widget;
  • HTML widget, it does not load all data when only aggregations are required;
  • OLAP, while choosing members of a dimension to be displayed in an OLAP analysis, the user can unselect all values with a single click;
  • OLAP, the default behaviour in the “search items” in a hierarchy is “Hide siblings”;

6th FIWARE Global Summit

On May 22-23, 2019,  the 6th FIWARE Global Summit will take place in Genoa, Italy.

The theme of the event will be “Building a Smart Future with Data“. The FIWARE Foundation strongly supports the adoption of de-facto standards of open source, reusable components that implement common APIs and interfaces for portability and interoperability of applications.

Engineering Group and Knowage Labs will join the event.

Knowage Labs meeting 2019

On April 2nd and 3rd 2019, Knowage Labs gathered together in Turin. The meeting aim was to give the team an opportunity to meet and address some topics of general interest together. The hashtag #WeAreKnowage was launched.

The events started with presentation game which lead to the building of a passion-and-skills wall of the team. Then, the morning continued with team works on semantic environment canvas.
