EU DataViz 2019 took place on 12 November 2019 in Luxembourg. The event, organised by the Publications Office of the European Union and supported by the ISA² programme of the European Commission, aimed to bring together the data visualisation community of the public sector in order to present and explore emerging trends and innovative initiatives.

Here follows our brief EU Dataviz Conference Digest.

The conference has been preceded by the Speakers Networking Dinner on 11th of November.

On the following day, some 400 participants gathered in the European Convention Center.

At Knowage booth Marco Cortella (Senior solution designer) and Noemi Maglio (Business Developer) discussed on possible integrations and collaboration to fully exploit end effectively present the huge amount of data available for public sector in EU.

At 14:40 Davide Vernassa (Senior front end developer) took the stage for the speech “Accessibility in data visualization“.

Davide highlighted that accessibility for visually impaired people is not really a trending topic in data visualization. While everyone is talking about digital transformation, color-blind and visually impaired people are out of the games. Knowage is among the first BI tools that faced the challenge of making data really available for everyone, joining the European P4All Project. He showed all accessibility features available in Knowage that are helping not only visually impaired people but also the elders and people that need to work in special visibility conditions.
