Paris Open Source Summit 2017 Event Highlights
Engineering and Knowage Labs attended to Paris Open Source Summit 2017 last week. Knowage participated to the event together with OW2 Consortium.
The event begun on 5th December with the Opening Night, reserved to speakers, partners, supporters and special guests, at the Potocki Hotel. During this evening the prizes Free Actors and the labels Digital Free Territory has been assigned to reward the best open source initiatives on French territory.
On 6th December, Knowage has been main character in two different sessions.
Davide Vernassa presented the ProsperityForAll accessibility approach applied to a business analytics suite in the Open Source Accessibility session. (View the speech here on Twitter).
Alessandro Portosa, instead, presented Knowage contribution to FIWARE to develop the new ecosystem for Smart Applications in the Collaborative EU Projects session (view the speech here on Twitter).
On 7th December, Grazia Cazzin presented an Industry 4.0 use case on Predictive Maintenance built upon a whole open source stack in the IoT session.
During both days, different demos took place at OW2 Village, about the different analysis that can be realized through Knowage, the dashboard creation (view the demo here on Twitter) and the smart data federation.
The participation to all these three different demos granted to some lucky participants a privileged access to a future webinar about the first step using Knowage!

FIWARE community gathers in Malaga
On 28 and 29th of November, the FIWARE Community gathers in Malaga (Spain) for the first FIWARE Tech Summit. Developers, startups and corporates from the worlds of Open Source, Smart Cities and Internet of Things come together to share experiences and create the future.

During the Developers Day documentation, hands-on experience, and open working style will be shared to highlight how FIWARE technology can ease the development of each smart application.

At 11:00PM, Alessandro Portosa (Knowage Technical Consultant) will present Knowage as the Business Intelligence tool for FIWARE during the IContext/Data Management Workshop (Room 2).

Paris Open Source Summit 2017
Knowage participates, with the OW2 Community, to the Paris Open Source Summit in Paris on 6th and 7th of December 2017.
Paris Open Source Summit, now in its third edition, replaces two pre-existing events: the Solutions Linux event and the Open World Forum. The ambition of this event is to tell the international community about the numerous contributions of the Free and Open Source within the current digital revolutions and the future ones and present the success stories of various companies using free and open source technology, the different communities involved and the strong support of public authorities.
Knowage booth will be located within the OW2 Village (C18-D19-1). Knowage Labs will held three different speeches:

Red Hat Open Source Days 2017 Event Highlights
Engineering and Knowage Labs attended to Red Hat Open Source Days 2017 this week in Milan and Rome. This edition theme has been « Driving innovation in your digital world ».
During the Opening Session, Werner Knoblich, Senior vice president and GM of Red Hat EMEA, presented the challenges of digital transformation. He also provided his vision of the future of IT: it will be OPEN, HYBRID and CLOUD. Moreover, any application could be used in any environment without lock-in.
Knowage Labs joined the event sharing the experience as an open source software on cloud. Alberto Ghedin, Knowage Solution Manager, gave the speech “Knowage & OpenShift: business analytics on cloud” (“Big Data & Analytics & Storage & IoT” session). View the speech here on Twitter.

Knowage 6.1 release
Knowage CE 6.1 is released today and now available for download from OW2 forge and GitHub. The main improvements are:
- New cockpit features and general improvements. In the new cockpit it is possible, for example, to move a widget from tab to tab, to manage the look&feel, to choose 3d options for charts and a lot more
- Dossier release. The Dossier feature allows to automatically build a presentation with predefined reports
- New Real Time features on NGSI Data Set
- General improvements on Report Engine

Red Hat Open Source Days 2017
Knowage supports the Red Hat Open Source Days 2017: this edition theme is « Driving innovation in your digital world ».
As usual, the event will reach Italy in two different dates: November the 7th 2017 in Milan and November the 9th
2017 in Rome.
Red Hat aims to gather together the most interesting open source solutions and foster discussion around future developments and the strategic advantages brought from OS technology use.
Knowage Labs will join the event willing to share the experience as an open source software on cloud.

Training on FIWARE technology the best european startups
From 26th to 29th of September 2017, Knowage will participate with the FIWARE Foundation, to the acceleration camp of IMPACT GROWTH.
