SMART INTELLIGENCE is the self-standing module of KNOWAGE for the exploratory and interactive analysis. The module ensures easy access to many kind of data that can be combined with mash-up logic with advanced ad-hoc and self-service capabilities. This rich module satisfies not only traditional BI requirements (OLAP, drill-down, slice & dice, dashboarding, KPIs) but  addresses more modern needs such as rapid development, interactive views, visual data inquiry, mash-up, high-level customization, r/python embedding, advanced data visualization.

The product supports the IT staff managing enterprise environment with multitenant and complex metadata. At the same time, it enables every user to freely inquire his own data space and produce self-made analysis and visualizations as for bi-modal approach and fast prototyping.

HIGHLIGHTS

INTERACTIVE DASHBOARDS

Interactive dashboards allow to combine any data, from different data sources and multiple data sets, into a single analysis. Using a wide range of widgets (charts, table, cross-table, text, image, filters, map, kpi, custom code, etc.)  information can be organized on multiple sheets connected to each other, providing various point of views for the same phenomena. Data can be read at run-time / real-time or handled with a cache. The end user can explore data in a well-organized context where good data visualization practices and intuitive experience make information easy to understand.

VISUAL DATA EXPLORATION

QbE (Query by Example) allows free exploration of data on the data space defined by metamodels and pre-built datasets, allowing a context-aware user to directly query the data without restrictions (but with secure role-based access), save the results in a new dataset, or save the query to run again in the future. QbE satisfies ex-tempore information needs, as well as repetitive queries where knowing data is enough and time to return is more important than viewing context. In addition, QbE supports self-service and ad hoc reporting process, giving the first data touch-point to non-technical users.

SELF-SERVICE AND AD-HOC REPORTING

As in modern BI, KNOWAGE fully supports self-service data and ad-hoc reporting, reconciling security and profiling requirements with users’ needs for autonomy.

Working in a private area (Workspace), end-users can organize their data and analysis, upload new files and design their preferred views independently. By combining data and widgets, each user can build his own dashboard in minutes, eventually sharing it with other users.

ADVANCED DATA VISUALIZATION

Data analysis and visualization must be flexible and open to custom code to meet modern needs, where data science meets business users and information must be communicated, not just displayed. KNOWAGE offers many open widgets, where experienced users can build advanced components (using HTML code, third-part libraries, R/python code) that can then be used by end users with just a few clicks. A rich gallery of pre-packaged components is already included, which can be extended and enriched as needed.

SMART INTELLIGENCE is one of the self-standing modules of KNOWAGE, covering the requirements of a modern BI in the general KNOWAGE environment, inheriting all the necessary features to manage analysis and data in a production environment for an enterprise architecture. PLUGINS

The SMART INTELLIGENCE module is one of the main components of KNOWAGE 8.0. It provides all the usual capabilities for interactive analysis, using standard visualizations such as charts, tables, cross-tables, texts, images, custom widgets. Moreover, four additional plugins can be added to fully support a richer user experience:

SMART DATA

Allows to combine Solr index with other data sources and provide faceted views and full text search

LOCATION INTELLIGENCE

Allows to handle spatial data providing multi-layer maps where geographic information joins traditional data shown by other standard widgets

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Allows to define KPIs with thresholds, schedule their evaluation and publish them natively in a widget

CUSTOM ANALYTICS

Allows to add what-if capabilities e take full advantage of R/python embedding possibilities
