On 7th and 8th of June 2018, Knowage team went to Paris for the OW2con’18, the international open source conference organized by OW2 Consortium.

Since this year’s OW2con edition title was “A Journey between Values and Value“, lot of attention has been addressed both to the Value open source can give to the Internet and the Value that open source technologies can bring out from data and events.

The open source Value most widely recognized is the collaborative model, as Cedric Thomas, OW2 CEO, states during the Kick-off. Plenty of successful projects resulting of collaborations between companies belonging to OW2 Consortium were presented, as, for example, the Fusion AIM.

Engineering Group presented some of its open source projects, starting from two predictive maintenance scenarios built upon an open source stacks, DiVE and OEDIPUS – DIDA projects. In both of them KNOWAGE provides the data visualization layer. 

DiVE (Digital Virtualization Experience) is an applicative framework for data collection and analysis in industry 4.0 context.

OEDIPUS (Operate European Digital Industry with Products and Services) is a High Impact Initiative (HII) belonging to the Digital Industry Action Line of EIT Digital. It aims at creating innovative solutions and business opportunities for European industrial players, corporations and SMEs.

In the end, KNOWAGE has been recognized as OW2con’18 Best Project and won the MARKET AWARD. The award acknowledges the market expertise of KNOWAGE and its commitment toward open source Values. Read more about the award:  KNOWAGE wins the OW2 Market Award!
