Engineering Group and FIWARE Foundation announce the availability of Knowage as new brand of the FIWARE component for business intelligence and data analytics.
The new brand represents the next generation of the well-known open source business intelligence and analytical suite named SpagoBI after significant functional and technological transformations and a new offering model. Knowage supports a modern vision of the data analytics, providing new self-service capabilities that give autonomy to the end-user, now able to build his own analysis and explore his own data space, also combining data that come from different sources.
The user experience has been entirely redefined and is now adaptive to different devices and immediately usable with tablets and smartphones.
Knowage is available under two versions:

the community edition, open source and public on github repository, including the whole set of analytical capabilities;

the enterprise edition, provided and guaranteed by Engineering with a new commercial offering
Knowage CE is now an Incubated FIWARE GE, but will became the open source reference implementation for performing business intelligence functions and analytics on contextual data within FIWARE in a few months.
“Knowage CE ends the revolution of SpagoBI, bringing the business intelligence and data visualization capabilities closer to the end-user” says Grazia Cazzin, SpagoBI project leader and now Knowage product director. “This new version allows FIWARE users and developers to easily build their applications with a powerful analytical capabilities, as modern solutions ask for”.

This will be essential to support the smart decisions required to improve existing processes” explained Juanjo Hierro, CTO of the FIWARE Foundation.
Knowage has been showcased at the 2nd FIWARE SUMMIT in Utrecht that took place from May 29th to 31st.
