Free Software Conference 2022

The South Tyrol Free Software Conference (SFScon) is one of Europe’s most established annual conferences on Free Software. SFScon promotes the use of Free Software in digital infrastructures as a tool to achieve greater innovation and competitiveness in the region. The festival gathers together decision-makers and developers from all Europe.

This year, SFScon 2022 will take place on Friday, 11th November and Saturday, 12th November 2022 in blended mode.

KNOWAGE will exhibit together with OW2 Consortium with a joint stand. Furthermore, KNOWAGE Labs will give three talks, aiming to present to the European open source community the recent novelties from KNOWAGE ecosystem.

In the COMMUNITY TRACK, Elena Marchisa (KNOWAGE Marketing & Communications Manager) will hold together with Roberto Palazzetti, CEO of OSMOSIT (KNOWAGE Integrator partner) the talk “Business partnership in open source: the experience of Osmosit and KNOWAGE“.

This talk will give a glimpse on the path done together by KNOWAGE and Osmosit in the context of Italian open source. The collaboration has over time taken various forms: data analysis training in universities, support to other companies in the adoption of open source, collaboration for the evolution of KNOWAGE suite and for the development of new products as KeyRef, the cloud solution for the management of school canteens and related services, that will be showcased during the talk. The talk aims to share a successful partnership model and foster a better collaboration between companies involved in open source..

In COMMUNITY TRACK, Grazia Cazzin (KNOWAGE Director) will hold the talk “Open source analytics and business intelligence – use cases in enterprises and public sector“.

This talk presents some use cases from both public sector and private companies where KNOWAGE, the open source analytics and business intelligence suite made in Italy, enabled a deeper understanding of ongoing phenomena and allowed reaching data-driven decisions. For each project, the speaker will highlight goals and initial requirements, the open source stack exploited, the values brought by the solution and the benefits gained through open source.

In the COMMUNITY TRACK track, Marco Cortella (KNOWAGE Data visualization Specialist and Business Intelligence Consultant) will hold the speech “Get advanced analytical capabilities thanks to an Italian open source solution, KNOWAGE

This talk aims to present how KNOWAGE provides company and organizations with analytical capabilities to exploit data to increase their efficiency and sustainability. Also thanks to the open source community support, the suite is constantly evolving combining the reliability of the most popular business intelligence solutions with the security and the transparency guaranteed by open source. This talk will give a focus on the main novelties introduced in 2022, such as: new data preparation module and data federation in self-service process, augmented analytics to support every end-user touch point and provide automatic insights, usability and performance for a new effective UI, a core offering as SaaS ABI solution.

KNOWAGE is joining the Free Software Conference together with other OW2 Community projects, with the aim to promote this association and the capabilities of its projects.

Highlight from Big Data & AI Toronto 2022

On October 6-7, 2022 Big Data & AI Toronto gathered together around 5500 IT decision-makers and data innovators, allowing them to explore and discuss insights, showcase the latest innovative projects, and connect with other data and analytics professionals.

On October 6th at 15:30, in the AI Demo stage, Grazia Cazzin (KNOWAGE Director) hold the demo presentation “Successful analytics and business intelligence with full open source stack – solutions and use cases from various industrial markets“. She showcased several real use cases from energy, healthcare and manufacturig sector, where big data, AI, cloud and Iot have been combined in end-to-end solutions.

Thanks also to the participation of colleagues from Engineering USA, KNOWAGE booth has been the a place to discuss recent technologies, fields of use and future scenarios, confronting with a multidisciplinary, stimulating and creative team.

The contacts collected and the ideas generated during the event will allow various Canadian companies to enhance their business thanks to open source business intelligence solutions.
