Update to version 8.1

Question

Hello!

My Knowage is currently on version 8.0 and would like to upgrade to 8.1.

Do I have to remove all of the previous installation first and run the 8.1 installer? Or how does it work?

Dear Irfun.s,

8.1 version is currently a release candidate version and can be unstable.
I suggest you to create a clone of your project or a new installation to test it before migrating.

I am unable to extract the zip installer on both Ubuntu and CentOS Linux. Following is the error I encountered.

Archive:  Knowage-8_1_0-RC-CE-Installer-Unix-20220428.zip
  End-of-central-directory signature not found.  Either this file is not
  a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive.  In the
  latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
  the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip:  cannot find zipfile directory in one of Knowage-8_1_0-RC-CE-Installer-Un              ix-20220428.zip or
        Knowage-8_1_0-RC-CE-Installer-Unix-20220428.zip.zip, and cannot find Kno              wage-8_1_0-RC-CE-Installer-Unix-20220428.zip.ZIP, period.

Any workaround?

about the corrupted file, yesterday I manually uploaded the file because we received a lot of reports like yours: I think we had some problems with the original upload.

I suggest you to download the file again and I thank you for your report.
