I am trying to install KNOWAGE (Knowage-7_4_10-CE-Installer-Unix-20210922) with connection to Oracle database in LINUX. In the installation manual it dictate with mysql installation but not with oracle. Do i need to install mysql first in LINUX before run KNOWAGE installation and after that connect to ORACLE? Is there anyone can provide step-by-step guidelines for KNWOAGE installation with Oracle database directly. I need help!!

Dear muyeen70,

if you want to use Oracle as metadata database (https://knowage-suite.readthedocs.io/en/7.4/installation-guide/requirements.html?highlight=oracle#database-schema-for-metadata) you should change configuration file manually (server.xml) after installation procedure.

Remember to put also Oracle JDBC driver inside your server lib folder.

Currently there's no step-by-step guide for Knowage with Oracle using installer, we appreciate your suggestion and we will make it in the future.

Hi Matteo,

Thanks for your quick response. The problem is when i ran the installer (Knowage-7_4_10-CE-Installer-Unix) it asked for database with two options (MarioDB and MySQL) , no option to choose Oracle as a database. But I still ran the installation and i found that it didn't generate knowage*/META-INF folder. That's why i suck, and don't know how to proceed? So my question is, to install KNOWAGE in LINUX, do i need to install mysql database first before run the installer if i already have Oracle installed?

Thanks

Abu Muyeen
Dear Muyeen,

if you want to install Knowage in a Linux system you have to install DB (Mysql or Oracle) before installing Knowage.

Regards

Matteo

Yes, Oracle already installed. But it is asking DBMS for metadata and oracle is not a choice. Please see screen shot below

If you want to use the installer you should install MySQL before using it.

Currently installer supports mysql and mariaDB only.

After that you can configure your environment for Oracle. Otherwise you should install Knowage and Oracle manually.
