The actual manual documentation state than the only required Tomcat dependencies are :

  • Apache Geronimo
  • Concurrency JSR-166
  • aktivecortex-foo-commonj
  • the database engine JDBC connector(s)

but, in the past for SPAGOBI, the 'commons-loggin' was described as a requirement too.

In fact:

  • the 'commons-loggin' lib (and 'common-loggin-api') is still installed by the Knowage CE installer
  • is is said to be a requirement in this other documentation

So is it still a requirement for the webapps, or is it just old stuff in the installer that is not needed anymore ?

PS: Tomcat 8 do not need anymore this library because he is now packaged with a fork of this library (JULI) to avoid the mixing of logs between Tomcat and webapps. My manual KnowageCE + Tomcat 8 install do not complain without it.

Environment Knowage 6.2, Tomcat 8, Debian 9
