this is the window opened to launch the MariaDB database server, you must have another window opened for the Knowage server using tomcat. What file did you use to launch the server?

That's the right thing to do, maybe there is a problem when tomcat is launching. Please have a look at the log files in the /log directory to see if there is any error.
