Are you trying to install in an already existing directory ?
No, this is a new installation, though I have JRE 1.8 installed already.

Create your installation folder manually in your file system and use that when required from the install. Also you need to use JDK 1.8 not just the JRE.

I had the same issue and I followed yours instructions, but it gives me the same error message. Did you find a solution?
Did you tried with the new 6.2 installer?
yes I tried with the 6.2 version

If you are using Windows is necessary to execute the installer as administrator.
